2024 year in review
“LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered - how fleeting my life is.” (Psalm 39:4 NLT)
2024 has come and gone. It amazes me that today marks the last day of the year. As I spent this morning going through all the photos on my phone from the beginning of 2024, I was reminded of how good and faithful God has been to us.
Looking back, there were moments of joy and laughter: sharing delicious food with one another, enjoying fellowship through hangouts (hiking, movies, pottery, etc.), attending summer and winter retreats, celebrating each other’s accomplishments, serving our neighbors through mission trips, local outreach, and church events, and praising God while studying His Word together.
However, there were also hard moments in life: dealing with stress from school and work, saying goodbye to friends and seeing people leave the church, and receiving difficult news of death or sickness in our families.
Despite the highs and lows of 2024, one thing remains constant: God is sovereign, and His will is good. He has a perfect plan for us and our church. As we enter 2025, my prayer is that we set our minds on things above and keep Christ at the center of our hearts. Christ is our anchor. He is our cornerstone.
In the brief time we have on this earth, let us strive to love God and love our neighbors as we abide in Christ.
